In February 2021, Customs Department of Revenue Service detained more than 40,000 bottles of counterfeit dish-washing products designated with a trademark of one of the widely known international producers of household cleaning products. The goods were being imported from Turkey. As an agreement on destruction of counterfeit goods could not be reached between the importer and the right holder, the latter initiated a civil action requesting destruction of counterfeit goods. The case is being considered by Batumi City Court. The right holder expects that counterfeit goods will not be allowed to be released and will be destroyed according to court’s decision.
