Georgian Bar Association (GBA) organized a training session at its office, featuring speakers George Taktakishvili and Nikoloz Gogilidze, managing partners of MGT. The session aimed to brief GBA members on current situation and developments in Georgia in the fields of trademarks and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.

Specifically, our managing partners informed attendees about the practice used by Georgian courts to assess trademark similarity and discussed recent landmark decisions. The meeting underscored the importance of the consistency of decisions made by courts in Georgia.

Furthermore, GBA members received detailed information about legislative mechanisms against counterfeiting and piracy, both at the border and within the country. During the meeting, existing challenges in the field of intellectual property rights enforcement were discussed, along with potential ways of addressing them.
